Voyanta ("we", "the app") is an AI travel-assistant application for Thailand. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
You may create an account using Google Sign-In or email/password. When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google ID, display name, and email address. This information is stored in Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud) and is used solely to identify your account and sync your data across devices.
You may also use the app as a "guest" without creating an account. Guest data is stored only on your device and is not synced to the cloud.
When you are signed in, the following data is synced to Firebase Realtime Database (Google Cloud) under your user ID:
This data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. It is used only to provide the service and sync your data across your devices.
The app includes an optional encrypted vault for storing sensitive documents (passport, insurance, bookings). The vault is protected by a PIN or biometric authentication and encrypted end-to-end using AES-256 encryption. We cannot access your vault contents — only you can decrypt it with your PIN or biometric key.

When you use the AI assistant, your message text is sent to our server and forwarded to Google Gemini (a third-party AI provider) to generate a response. Your chat history is stored in Firebase under your account for continuity across sessions. You can delete your chat history at any time from the app settings.
If you use the voice input feature, your device's speech recognition converts your voice to text locally. The resulting text (not the audio) is then sent to the AI assistant. No audio recordings are stored or transmitted.
If you use features such as "near me" or navigation, the app may request your device location. It is used only to provide that feature at that moment and is not stored on our servers.
If you opt into the buddy/diver system, your Diver ID (a random 6-digit number), display name, availability status, and profile information are visible to other users who are also using the buddy system. You can leave the buddy system at any time, which removes your profile from other users' views.
The app fetches public travel news and safety alerts from our server. These requests include standard technical information (such as IP address) handled by our web-server logs.
During the pilot we collect anonymous usage events on our own server (self-hosted — not Google Analytics or any third-party tracker). Events include: questions asked of the assistant, which action buttons are tapped, session length, and ratings you choose to give. Each event is tagged with a random anonymous ID stored on your device. We do not store your IP address with these events. This data is used only to improve the product.
If you rate a hotel, restaurant or attraction, your rating and optional comment are stored to improve recommendations. Do not include personal information in feedback comments.
In the future, some booking links (hotels, flights, eSIM) may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This will be clearly disclosed.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not collect biometric data — the app uses your device's built-in biometric system (fingerprint/face) which we do not have access to.
Voyanta is intended for adult travelers and is not directed at children under 13.

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Local data on your device is deleted when you clear app data or uninstall the app.
When you join our waitlist on voyantaai.com, we collect your email address to notify you when the app is available. Your email is stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud) and is used only for this purpose. We do not share it with third parties. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hefsed@gmail.com.
We may update this policy as the product evolves; the "last updated" date reflects changes. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
